New vistas in ipod revolution

iPod's have revolutionized the entire entertainment industry as we know. Although it will still take couple of decades more before the
whole world zooms in on iPods and similar gadgets. The new video podcasting is slated to be a monster industry. It will get all the rival companies back in their design studios and R&D departments to come up with whatever is missing from these video iPods. Why would this industry be huge? "I'm telling you right now, Video Podcasts are going to be huge. HUUUUGE... Making it so easy to rip or download new music and sync it to your device made the iPod what it is today. The same functionality for Videos is what is going to make the new iPod the standard bearer for portable video as well even though it has a much smaller screen than the PSP," writes Russell Beattie, a critic and an observer at silicon valley. "I can't wait for iFilm, AtomFilms and JibJab and all the rest to start creating content for my iPod and other devices as well," adds Russell.

This is what exactly will happen. Amateur and talented film and video makers are just going to be popular via distribution of their talents through these video iPods and similar gadgets to hit the markets very soon. The once pricey and biased media production houses and channels will take a back seat once these personal videos will become an ever lasting need. Self-production will take on a bigger meaning and role as these small video files will be available for free download and distribution. Although paid video films cannot be ruled out, they still will fit within a budget and yet earn a packet for the producer of that video.

It goes without saying that this technology too could be misused like any other technology by sharing P2P porno films and the likes. Would there be a control central to make sure such films don't get distributed and seen? Maybe, maybe not! It will finally rest on the individual to pick and choose what they wish to see. This gives a lot of scope for those wanting to create films on specific subject and targeting specific group. Educational films via such video podcasting could be another means of spreading the good word in remote and rural areas where other technology may not reach due to transport cost or missing power.

Whichever, the method utilized, finally the change in video transmission has changed for good or bad but forever!
