Parimarjan Negi becomes India's Youngest Grandmaster

Parimarjan Negi became India's youngest Grandmaster when he achieved the third and the Final GM norm at Chelyabinsk Region Superfinal Championship at Satka in Russia .He got this remarkable feat when he drew with Rusian Grandmaster and his former Coach Ruslan Sherbakov.
At the age of 13 years and 142days , Parimarjan Negi has broken the previous Indian record of Pentala Harikrishna, who at the age of 15 years and 99 days, earlier in August 2001, broke Viswanathan Anand's 14 years record of becoming India's youngest Grand Master at the age of 18.
Parmarjan is now the second youngest Grandmaster in the world and replaces Magnus Carlsen Karjakin by a mere 5 days margin . Sergey Karjakin, who achieved this feat at the age of 12years and 7 months however holds the world's Youngest GM's Title.
This is a remarkable achievement by Parimarjan Negi, who attained his International Masters Title only in December last year and within a short span of six months he converted this feat intio GM's Title. He not only completed his third and Final GM Norm but got 6 points from a total of 9 rounds.
