Dreams of flying High! a struggle of a Bangalore Boy.
by A Wellwisher
It all started when Sharath Upadhya at 19 was gazing passionately at the skies from the terrace outside his room, watching aircrafts descending to land at Bangalore Airport. One fine day at the end of 2006, he decided to get going in the empty space available for him on the terrace of his rented room. His father, a washing machine technician was equally supportive despite his economic obstacles. To his support came an IT entrepreneur to get the work moving to build a prototype of an ultralight single seater aircraft out of Sharath\'s own learning acquired through reference on the internet.
Sharath\'s passion to become a pilot to fly high in the skies and his fire to acquire skills in building an affordable single seater aircraft were commendable. The outcome of a 6-7 months of hard labor has finally given shape to a workable aircraft.
This youngster needs further support to undergo his pilot training, the cost of which is around
20 lakh is beyond his reach when compared to building his own aircraft itself!
For all the above to be realized, the Pilot-able ultra-light aircraft built by this boy need to fly and he needs all the financial help and support to undergo necessary Pilot Training and he needs the support of authorities in obtaining the necessary permission to test flight.
This Bangalore boy really needs Bangloreans support and help in fulfilling his Ambition. He has got a lot of publicity but no help from anybody from a city with 60 lakh of population. He is struggling hard to raise funds for his Commercial Pilot Course. He is already struck by the negative responses of some of the leading Airliners of the Country. So he needs the help of Bangaloreans in raising that huge amount. But he is really very much Optimistic about bangaloreans. This is what he says
“I need Bangaloreans help in raising funds for my Commercial Pilot Course. I know it’s a very huge amount and cannot be arranged by a single person, but if so many people put their hands together I think it is possible to reach that goal. And I would like to take it as a loan and not as a Donation and I Promise that I am going to repay the entire amount that I get from any Donors as I get the job after finishing my course and become financially stable. Please Bangaloreans help me fulfill my Dream”
And I think if every body donate something towards fulfilling his dream and encourage people like him we can really build a better nation.
