Hiranandani Hospital Organizes Solidarity Signature Campaign on World Aids Day

Mumbai, 1st December 2007

On the 1st of December 2007 thousands of people including school children, auto rickshaw drivers, Star Voice of India participants and people from all walks of life gathered at the Hiranandani Gardens Complex to pledge against Aids in a special World AIDS Day event organised by Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai.
World's First Online Pledge Campaign.

The Hiranandani Hospital has been committed to the World AIDS Day campaign since 2004 and true to this year's theme – 'Leadership' for World AIDS Day, Hiranandani Hospital has launched for the first time in India and Online Pledge Campaign where you can log on to www.hiranandanihospital.org and promise to 'Stop AIDS'. This online pledge initiative has been acknowledged by Limca Book of Records as a unique health awareness initiative never done before by anyone.

The hospital also organized debates among school students on the above theme in the hospital. A free educational lecture for rickshaw drivers was also held by prominent theatre personality, Mr Jayant riplani at the Hiranandani Hospital Auditorium.

Hiranandani Hospital 's Solidarity signature campaign involved a specially created signature panel that was kept at the Galleria Mall at Hiranandani Gardens for the entire day for people to sign as an expression of their pledge to fight against AIDS.

There were energetic performances by the sensational finalists of Star Voice of India as well as the children participants of Star Voice of India - Chhote Ustaad. Humorous performance by the Laughter Challenge star Khyali also enthralled the audience.

All participants got together to affirm their commitment to keep the promise to Stop AIDS in the Oath taking ceremony. Several balloons carrying the message to Stop AIDS were symbolically released in the sky commemorating the event.

Informs Dr. Sujit Chatterjee, CEO, Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital , "Initiated in 1988, World AIDS Day is not only about raising money for but also for creating awareness about HIV/AIDS. In our endeavor we have been supported in good measure by Corporates such as HIRCO and also Star Voice of India. I feel that in the future we will be supported by others and create unique ways of spreading awareness against HIV/AIDS".
