Aussie organisation fighting for their lives and that of patients.

Careflight is a non profit medical retrieval helicopter unit in New South Wales Australia. It has saved literally thousands of lives every month and in constant need of updated helicopters and supplies.

This week the New South Wales government sold off their contract to a Canadian company which allegedly puts profit first. The Careflight teams around the state consisting of qualified medical doctors, piolots and specialists; have stated that they will do a mass walkout if this company takes over Careflight and puts their lives and that of patients in jeopardy.

Careflight take critically injured patients in accidents to Sydney hospitals for more specialised care and have to land a helicopter literally on the road and highways to pick up a patient. They also aid in finding lost people in the bush and fly patients from country areas to the city when critically ill or injured.

The people of Australia have worked for many years to fundraise for this incredible organisation that clearly projects mateship and commradery and are devoted to their patients who are in their darkest hour.

New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma has stated that Careflight will be cancelled by May 2007 and it\'s helicopters grounded.
