GULF DIRT TRACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – NASHIK
11th & 12th NOVEMBER 2006 – FOURTH ROUND
Having successfully hosted the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship in 2005, the city is once again honoured to host the fourth round of Gulf Dirt Track National Championship 2006.
The event, being sponsored by the Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., will be organized by Sportscraft - Mumbai, in association with Nashik Automotive Sports Association – NASA under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). This prestigious event will be staged at Idgah Maidan (Golf Club Ground), Trimbak Road, Nashik on 11th & 12th November 2006.
The earlier three rounds were held at Mangalore, Chennai and Raipur.
The event would feature 12 classes, out of which seven are championship races. In the remaining five categories three are open to all, while two races would be for the riders from the state of Maharashtra. We also have a special category for Ladies. As there are various groups and categories, the event is not restricted to professionals only. In fact, anyone having a two-wheeler can compete.
After the 3rd round held in Raipur there has been major changes in the leading positions.
In the Indian Experts - foreign motorcycle: H. K. Pradeep & Karan Kadam both of TVS Racing team are leading with 100 points each.
However in Private Experts – Indian motorcycles: Rustom Patel from Mumbai is still ahead of the fray with 101 points, followed by Raja from Bangalore with 91 point and Ganesh Lokhande from Nashik with 85 points.
Leading in the Novice classes are: Arvind K.P of TVS Racing with 57 points in Indian motorcycle upto 125cc – 4 stroke; Hafeezur Rehman of TVS Racing with 57 points in Indian motorcycle upto 160cc – 4 stroke and again Arvind K.P of TVS Racing with 57 points in Indian motorcycle – 2 stroke
In Private Expert – Foreign Motorcycles: Badal Doshi from Mumbai is leading with 90 points and Rustom Patel of Mumbai is closing up with 80 points.

Over the last four years, the Gulf Dirt Track challenge was staged in 12 cities, providing motorcycle freaks a chance to test their riding skills. With more manufactures entering the fray, the event is gaining in popularity.
The prize money at stake is huge as the winners of this round will take home Gulf trophies and prize money worth Rs. 75000/-.

The Standard entries close on 6th November 17:00 hrs. The late entries will be accepted till 8th November 13:00 hrs.
The Championship will be held in the following classes and points garnered from the same will be counted over the five rounds of the Challenge:
Indian Expert Class
1. Motorcycles above 250cc Group ‘B’ class 2 & 4 Stroke
2. Foreign Motorcycles upto 250cc 2 & 4-stroke,, Group ‘A’
Private Expert class
1. Motorcycles above 80cc upto 150cc 2-stroke Group ‘B’
2.Foregin Motorcycle upto 250cc Group A- 2 & 4 Stroke
There are special classes for the Novice Championship.

2. Motorcycles above 125cc upto 160cc 4-Stroke Group ‘D
