Sneak preview of the much awaited 22nd Anniversary Global Awards Function

Priyadarshni Academy is proud to announce the highlights of what is in store at its 22nd Anniversary Global Awards Function. Mr. Nanik Rupani, Chairman Priyadarshni Academy, announced along with other prominent members of the managing committee like Ms. Poonam Dhillon, Dr Ram Tarneja and Mr. Nayan Patel were also present. Priyadarshni academy is a world-renowned socio-cultural organization that acknowledges and honours the outstanding contributions made by eminent personalities in various fields ranging from corporate to social work. “This award has become something to look forward to,” spoke Ms. Dhillon.

In the past, distinguished personalities like Ms. Megawati Soekarnoputri, President, Indonesia, Prof Rupa B Shah, Vice Chancellor, S.N.D.T Women’s University, Mr. Jorma Ollila, Chairman and CEO, Nokia Corporation, Mr. Hiroshi Tsutshi, President, Nissin Corporation, Japan have won awards for their accomplishments in their respective fields. Celebrities like Yash Chopra, Urmila Matondkar, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai have been bestowed with the prestigious Smita Patil Memorial Award.
Chief Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Shri Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry and Shri. Jayantrao Patil, Minister for Finance and Planning, Government of Maharashtra along with various dignitaries shall grace the star-studded ceremony on the 19th September 2006 at Hilton Towers.
Priyadarshni Academy:
Priyadarshni Academy is a prominent NGO engaged in socio-cultural and educational activities and has been holding the biennial Awards Function since its inception in 1984. The Awards presentation functions have been graciously attended by heads of industry, leading VIPs from state and central governments in India, diplomats and United Nations representatives.

1. Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri for contribution to the field of management. Professor Chaudhuri is the Dean, Centre for Economic Research & Advanced Studies at IIPM.
2. Mr. N R Narayana Murthy for contribution in the field of IT
3. Ms. Kareena Kapoor, Actress- Smita Patil Memorial Award for Best Actress.
4. Mr. Subir Raha for contribution to the Oil Sector. Mr. Subir Raha served as Chairman and Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC).
5. Dr. H.S. Dillon for Oversees Indian award.
6. Mr. Olara A. Otunnu for contribution to Human Rights. He is the President of LBL Foundation for Children.
7. Mr. Toru Hasegawa for contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility. President and Representative Director, Yamaha Motor Company.
8. Mr. Raj Loomba for Contribution to Education of Children and Welfare of the poor Widows. Raj Loomba is the founder Chairman of Rinku Group plc, a well-established knitwear company in the U.K.
9. Dr. B K Goyal for contribution to Medicine. He is a cardiologist and medical educationist.
10. Mr. Noel Hon for the contribution to Humanitarian Services. Mr. Noel Hon, chairman of NEC Solutions Asia Pacific.
11. Dr. Unna Huh for contribution to IT Education. President of the Information and Communications University (ICU).
12. Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga for the contribution to Sports. He is the former Captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team.
13. Mr. Jignesh Shah for the contribution to Innovative Entrepreneurship. He is the founder of Financial Technologies India Ltd.
