Cape Town Pre-Launch of CPTBFF

The Cape Town Pre-Launch of the Cape Town Bollywood Film Festival was held on Saturday, 27th May 2007 at Market Square (in the Bedouin Tent) at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
It was a successful event packed with entertainment attended by lots of local celebs, media, Filmmakers, Producers, Directors and many others. Some of the celebs were Ambrose Uren, Anele Matoti, Anthony Oseyemi, Christo Davids, Chumani Pan, Chumisa Cosa, Clint Dixon, Dirk de Villiers, Erica Wessels, Motlatsi Mafatshe, Verity Price, Sox and many others. There were many other old film veterans like Sybil Sands, John Caviggio and many others.
The event started with Martina Della Togna (from Rainbow Circle), the MC complimenting Yasmin on her success and briefing about the Film and Television Industry and Arifa Parkar (from Cape Chamber of Commerce) speaking about the business side of things including stressing her support towards the Film Festival and her input. Rachel Samuels (Filmmaker and Festival Partner) then called Yasmin up to stand by her side while she complimented Yasmin and Yasmin's mother on Yasmin's efforts. Rachel also called her daughter to present Yasmin with a bouquet of flowers.
A promo of the Pre-Launch in India, messages from the stars from Bollywood and three new film releases was screened namely The Whisperers (starring Manoj Bajpai, Rahul Bose, Tara Sharma and Kim Sharma); Chath - A Roof Without Walls (USA Production) and My Bollywood Bride (starring Sanjay Suri, Kashmira Shah, Gulshan Grover, Jason Lewis from Sex and the City and many others).
There was some lovely prizes given away from the Lucky Draw namely first prize was a three night weekend in the Presidential Penthouse at new Colosseum Hotel in Century City. The luxurious Presidential Penthouse consists of three bedrooms, three bathrooms and is fitted with the high quality fittings. The penthouse sleeps up to six and the prize is valued at over R40 000. Second prize was African frames from Framing Factory and third prize was Yardley Hampers.
The event ended with entertainment by Renshe (upcoming artists and designers), Magic of Larry Soffer and entertainment by an AFDA student.
