Got cheated at Sangeetha Electronics (Blore)

 

I've had one of the most unethical, fraudulent business experiences as a customer when I bought Nokia N72 from Sangeetha, Jayanagar 4th Block, Bangalore.

 I bought a new Nokia 6270 mobile phone and had to return it in a matter 2 days for software issues. This itself was enough to understand how good the products at the “reputed” dealer were. So I upgraded to N72 in exchange of 6270. While trying to choose a better model, I compared N70 & N72, and decided to buy N72 (Rs17500, after vat) which cost lesser than N70 (Rs18600, after vat). This is when the manager of the outlet played the dirty trick.

 He billed me for N70 instead of N72 which was Rs1100 more than the former. And when I asked for an explanation as to why the bill is crossing Rs18000, while it was supposed to be just Rs17500, the manager gave me a weird explanation saying he cannot carry forward the VAT of the earlier model and hence will have to charge me Rs600 more, and showed me a bill of Rs600 out of somewhere in evidence. He thoroughly confused me with the numbers and I had to accept it, though I was not fully convinced.

 I got back home and calculated the amount difference in peace and to my expectation/doubt, I found the numbers were played around with. He had actually billed me Rs1100 more for N72. I was furious enough and went back to the manager who greeted me with a smile as though he thought we've come to buy another phone after being tricked.

I kept my cool and asked him for an explanation of the billed amount, and suddenly he happened to realize (pretending) that he had actually billed me for N70 instead of N72. This added to my rage and demanded a serious explanation to his fraudulent act, for which he apologized saying it was mistake on his part as he got confused between N70 & N72 and not that he was trying to swindle the money. I am amused at the speed at which he calculated the difference amount + thought of a reason to justify the extra charges on the bill while I was buying the phone.

 Finally after giving a piece of my mind I calculated the difference amount and the manager settled the issue. I am going to post this episode in every possible blog, related to mobile phone in Bangalore. Hoping to alter all buyers from Sangeetha retail outlets, especially the Jayanagar outlet.
