100th AGM of the IMC

100th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber was presided over by the chief guest Mr. O.P. Bhatt, Chairman, SBI and guest of honour, Mr. Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC. Prior to this the IMC President Mr. Neeraj Bajaj had announced a surplus of Rs. 3 Crores and Rs. 37 Lakhs by the ladies committee to its members. IMC released three study initiatives namely: Corporate initiatives in rural and agricultural transformation; Reforms in Indian higher education and Supply chain management for Indian agriculture.

Mr. Bajaj then handed over the charge of Presidentship of IMC officially to Mr. M.N. Chaini, who is the new president of IMC for the year 2008-09. IMC has completed 150 programmes so far and the centenary celebration that was started by Dr. Kalam the then President of India had ended with Mr. Chidambaram, Finance minister, India.
