Aussie Castle Babes an Inspiration to all ages
by Angel Arcadia (with permission by Enchanted Australia Castle management)
Around 18 months ago a young Australian woman Maree Agland-Kilmartin had a dream of building a golden sandstone castle in rural New South Wales, Australia. A dream of having it built on 100 acres and including 30 motel units on one side of the castle wall and an incredible tourist attraction inside.
The dream was to create a castle where people of all ages could go to, to be children again without fear of predators, where they could have fun without anything being sexualised and where computer games don't exist. Where women are treated with respect, can be feminine and have self esteem; where men are gentlemen and act as such. Children treated as children and can play as children safely without fear.
Much research was done and it was revealed that women craved to dress up in long feminine, elegant gowns and dance the night away in a romantic embrace waltzing with their husband or boyfriend at a masquerade ball. To have events that allowed them to spend hours doing their makeup and looking beautiful instead of going down the local pub to see a band.
Men longed for the day they could have their wives and girlfriends take the time to dress up, have more self esteem because of it and see the respect all women deserve. Since women decided to dress as men do, they have lost most of their femininity and respect from men and for men.
It was also found that all parents dislike having to take their kids anywhere because as soon as they do, their children race for the computer games and technology and may as well have stayed home. In Enchanted Australia Castle everything is hands on for all family members including the disabled.
The team are predominantly Australian and women - Maree Agland-Kilmartin comes from rural New South Wales and is the owner of the castle plan. She will be in charge of the over all castle when built but will also bring in another manager to take full charge of lawyers, accountants, shop managers etc so she can specifically look after the chapel, and entertainment selection.
Tahnja Wolter (NSW Coastal) is a business co partner, in charge of the fashions to be created especially for the castle and owns her own medieval inspired fashion line business.
Kirsten Pender (NSW) is the Troubadour Manager and will also manage the children's function centre.
Rachel Crance (USA) is in charge of publicity in America and a troubadour club in America.
Catherine MacPhail (Canada) owns her own leather mask business called Art-UnMasked Ltd and is currently making wholesale fantasy, medieval, renaissance, Vienna and carnivale hand carved leather masks.
Dominique Rizzo (Queensland) a celebrity TV chef who will be creating some of the function room menus when the castle is almost built.
Other current team members include Dean Ranel (NSW) who will be involved in music scores, writing rock operas for events, advertising jingles, engineering, sound and lighting. Danny Griffin (USA) author of Merlin the Mouse books, DC Green (NSW) author of some very succesful children's books. Rajendar Menen (India) author of a book that tells the harsh realities of child prostitution and rape in India. Not to mention the hundreds of businesses in alliance already to supply merchandise and food produce to the castle; the hundreds of bands and entertainers from around the world already begging to perform there; the selected Official Castle Knights and Divas who are role models already for the castle internationally and once financed and built, possibly another 500 staff or more.
The castle will also feature lip smacking delicious wholesome meals in the Tavern, eatery and function rooms which will be affordable and 100% organic produce from local farmers, wineries, meat suppliers and wholesalers.
All staff will be employed in line with castle ethics ie locals first, New South Wales residents, then Australia wide. No back packers will be employed and the only international people employed will be visiting entertainers, and suppliers such as Armstreet (Luthiania), Art-UnMasked Ltd (Canada) and a few other suppliers they cannot get in Australia.
The castle them is Australian, Renaissance and Fantasy and although Australia never had a renaissance period, the team aim to put their own spin on it.
Currently the team are trying to find an investor for AUD$70m to build the castle and motel or looking for an angel investor who will do it interest free (but with benefits) so that 100% of the profit can go back into the castle and the community as well as support selected charities, many of them child orientated.
The team are so passionate about this castle that several have gone to near bankruptcy to do this and eat only every few days because they have been so ill. The pain and suffering this team has gone through has been unbelievable but they stand firm in their commitment and are always abound with practical jokes and laughing. Just like typical Aussies, every time they are knocked down they get straight back up again. This showed recently when a stalker actively pursued the team on their official castle website and left degrading messages. Maree simply deleted the messages, deleted the guest book, locked all blogs and forgave him for what he did and moved on.
The website has won three major web awards and can be found on the home page at http://www.enchanted-australia-castle.biz/
When asked what really inspired this castle, Maree simply answers "God, King Arthur, Michael Flatley and my native ancestral home of Ireland".
